The Alamodome used to be the home of the San Antonio Spurs. They now moved
to the AT&T Center. The Alamodome is walking distance from the
Alamo and the San Antonio Riverwalk.

In 1836, 189 defenders died at the Alamo fighting the Mexican army under
General Santa Anna. There is little left of the fort, but there is a
nice museum set up at the location. You can see where the defenders died
protecting our country and the state of Texas. The Alamo is across
the street from the riverwalk. If you are visiting the riverwalk, this is a
must see.

The AT&T Center, formerly known as the SBC Center (officially changed name in Jan 2006) is the home to the San Antonio Spurs and numerous other concerts and sporting events. The center is a state of the art facility completed in 2002.

Lackland is just west of San Antonio and is the home for basic training for Air Force personnel. As you travel through the San Antonio Riverwalk you will often see many air force personnel enjoying their day off while wearing their uniforms.

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, just outside of San Antonio, offers kids and adults a wonderful waterpark filled with adventures like none other. They have over 3 miles of tubing rides along with some of the top thrill rides offerred by waterparks. Some of the top thrill rides such as Black Knight, plunges you down a black tube at high rates of speed. Boogie Bahn offers real boogie board surfing. There are many other rides available and prices can be somewhat steep. Currently 1 day pass for adults is $34.50 and children is $28.50. This is a must see adventure and we consider the prices worth it.
